Gardner Commons: Placement and Removal Instructions
A-frames are an effective way to promote events and information throughout the Union and Gardner Commons. Here’s how to properly place and remove them to maximize visibility and maintain a professional appearance.
Placing A-Frames
Step 1: Review the Location Map
- Always use the Gardner Commons A-Frame Location Map to identify approved placement spots.
- Some paid advertisements will ask for a specific a-frame location, please check the task notes to make sure you are placing it in the correct location.
- Ensure the a-frame is clear of obstructions and does not block walkways, entrances, or ADA paths.
If all a-frames are currently full with advertisements, more a-frame holders can be found in the dish room in the Union Basement. A building manager will need to unlock the door for you.
Step 2: Prepare the A-Frame
- Confirm that the signage inside is accurate and securely attached.
- Check the weather and secure it with sandbags or weights if needed.
Step 3: Take a photo
- Take a photo of the a-frame you placed and upload it to the corresponding item in Asana in the Advertising Calendar project.
Removing A-Frames
Step 1: Follow Advertising Calendar Timelines
- A-frame inserts must be removed promptly after the event or advertisement dates end.
- If you are unsure of the removal date, please check the Asana Advertising Calendar Board.
Step 2: Replace Inserts
- If paid advertisements are removed, please fill an empty a-frame with other paid advertising. If no other paid advertising is ready to place, please fill with Union generic advertising inserts. We never want a-frames to be left empty.
Important Things to Remember:
- Do not place A-frames outside approved locations—this could result in removal by the University Facilities team.
- Inspect regularly: If you notice a damaged frame or sign, report it immediately to Ryann.
