Stuck Elevator

Procedure

If you receive a call saying that someone is stuck in the elevator, follow these steps:

1. Figure out which elevator is having issues & Find the floor the elevator is stuck on
2. Make sure that the out-of-order signs are placed on all floors of the elevator
3. Contact Facilities (801-581-7221); Facilities will contact the elevator company to make repairs & Contact Brett to look into repairs as well. *Whether someone is stuck in the elevator or not 
4. If someone is stuck in the elevator contact Campus police (801-585-2677) Campus Police Procedure
   1. The fire department will then be dispatched if it is an emergency
5. Collect the elevator key from Branden's office or East Storage
   1. DO NOT attempt to use the elevator key by yourself, this key should be handed to the Facilities or Fire Department once they arrive
6. Fill out an incident report 

*Notify Supervisors at the time of the incident and follow through with any actions taken

Elevator Key Location

• Key 1: Brandon's office, behind the left side of the door

• Key 2: East storage
  • On top of the cabinet in front of the washing machines 
  • There is a key lock attached, but it should not be locked
    • If locked, the key can be found in the top right drawer under the table by the washing machines or contact RC 

How the key looks and how to use: 

1. The keyhole will be located on the upper part of the elevator
   1. 
2. The key should be inserted straight into the hole, then turn the key to unlock the elevator doors
