Campus Police Procedure

You should call campus police in the event of a: 

• Building Resident requests police presence
• Anytime a law is broken (ex. stealing & vandalism)
• Anytime an employee, building resident, or student feels unsafe 
• Bomb Threat
• Suspicious Package
• Suspicious Person

*Use your best judgment in all of these cases to determine if the police are necessary to call; if unsure contact Lead Building Managers

*If there is no description, image, or recording of the individual(s) do not contact campus police, unless a patron requests their presence (Incident report should still be submitted) 

Contacting Campus Police

• Introduce yourself as the Union Building Manager 
• Explain the situation in as much detail as you can 
  • Request to meet at the service desk or a set location
• Describe the situation again upon campus police arrival and assist with finding the location, accessing rooms etc.
• Request officers name and email, case number and file an incident report to the best of your ability

*Notify Lead Building Manager if you need any assistance
