Equipment List
You will need the following equipment to live stream events.
- Canon XA60
- Canon XA60 Power Supply
- Canon Interface Cable IFC-4000U
- Camera Tripod
- Mac Mini with OBS Streaming Software
- Computer Monitor
- Computer Wireless Mouse & Keyboard
- Yamaha Mixer
- USB Cable for Mixer
Camera Setup
Connect the Canon XA60 to a tripod in the back of the room where you can get a clean angle on the content you want to capture on video. (Photo)
To ensure the camera doesn't disconnect during the event, connect the Canon XA60 to power using the power supply cord. (Photo)
Connect the camera to the streaming laptop via the IFC-400U interface cable. (Photo)
Turn the camera on by switching into camera mode.
Audio Setup
Set up the Yamaha Mixer at the back of the room.
Connect event microphones/audio to mixer.
Connect the Yamaha Mixer to the streaming laptop via the USB cable.
Streaming Setup
Set up the Mac Mini and computer monitor on a table near the camera and mixer.
The Mac Mini Should have these connections
The back of the monitor should look like this
Streaming to Youtube
Open OBS Studio Software
Under the Profile menu, select Youtube
Ensure that the camera and audio are coming through.
Click on Manage Broadcast> Select Existing Broadcast > Click on the Correct Event > Select Broadcast
When ready to stream, click Start Streaming, and if necessary, click Go Live
Streaming to Zoom
Open Zoom Software
Sign in using the event planner's login.
Select Canon XA60 as the camera.
Select USB Audio as the Microphone.
Troubleshooting
AUDIO: If there is no audio for the Live stream
OBS should have an 'Audio Input Capture' recognizing the small mixer.
If not, delete and try adding Audio Input Capture again.
Check the source, laptop, mic, etc. Ensure they're on with batteries fully charged.
Check the mixer for loose connections, volume levels, and mute buttons.
VIDEO: If there is no video for the Live Stream
OBS should have a 'Video Input Capture' recognizing the Camera (CANON)
If not, delete and try adding Video Input Capture again.
Ensure that the Camera is plugged into power and for loose connection to the Mac Mini
If you do not see the existing broadcast, you can create a new broadcast to test the live stream, which would automatically be labeled 'My Broadcast'.
